I'm currently looking for a new 19" LCD in the £200-£300 range (Bet you've never heard this before :p)

I seem to be currently stuck between the Viewsonic VX912, Samsung SM-913N and the Samsung SM-930BF. I game quite a lot especially games like CSS/BF2 etc and was just wondering which of these would be best?
Obviously the SM-913N is around £40 cheaper but would I notice the difference between that and the other two?

I did a search but there were no definitive topics comparing the three.

for an average user i think it would be very hard to tell the difference between the 8ms models like the VX912 and 913N and the slightly faster models like the 930BF. The Samsung 930BF does incorporate the use of RTC overdrive technology to boost grey to grey transitions. IT is actually pretty effective and the 930BF does offer some improved responsiveness over the 8ms generation which did not feature this technology. However, the 8ms generation are certainly fast enough for most users anyway, so it's value is debatable to the average user. If you can stretch then it might be worth it as the 930BF is arguably one of the fastest panels in the market right now. However, the 913N is still a fantastic monitor and if you wanted to save £40 it would be a good choice :)

One thing to note is that the adverse effect of this overdrive technology is that it impacts movie playback on the 930BF. It can lead to excessive noise in movie playback which is undesirable, so something to bare in mind depending on your requirements

Ah ok then cheers for replying, It looks to me like it's now between the two Samsungs and I'm debating about the £40 price difference.

Thanks, I guess this can be closed now :)
