Right,
Helping out a friend from work with their computer atm and went there today and had a very brief look as we were in a rush.

She has a Pentium 4 with 256MB RAM and is running XP. The computer needs to be formatted anyway but even when this happens the computer will still run amazingly slowly with that much RAM.

Now I have 1GB spare DDR PC2700 here but am unsure if the board will take it, I have no info on the board at all so just a general query as to whether P4's are able to take DDR?

Is a bit old and don't have any other info to give at the moment sorry.

run CPU-Z and look under the memory tab to see what type of memory is installed now. SD-RAM is 168 pin and ddr is 184 so it will be one or the other. Not too sure on P4's but i have seen an athlon XP board that took sd-ram and one that took ddr

What mame said or as it looks like your going to do a format, try EVEREST Free Edition.
Download > Install > open top left look for report then just next next finnish and you'll end up with a nice little page telling you whats in the box.

Right, ran Everest and found that it is this motherboard MS-6507, now I have put the RAM in and its working fine however, I am planning to format the computer and install XP again as its all bogged down but I am having a really hard time finding the drivers.

Anyone know where to go, the MSI site doesn't seem to help :(

you can download your board driver from here: To the right of the product name MS-6507 there are three Tabs, " Bios, Drivers and Manual" http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=296&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&cat3_no=4

Where would I get the audio driver from? I can manage the GFX as its a GF4 MX so any Nvidia driver should be fine but audio not too sure on.
