i've got an old crappy geforce 4 ti4200 as my decent card went to the knackers. about to get a 19" WS monitor, will this wreck support the resolution?

What is the resolution?

I assume that by "support" you mean that it will let you goof around in Windows, browse the 'net, etc. rather than playing games. Is this correct?

it's 64mb i believe. the resolution is 1400x900, i don't play games so yeah, would just be browsing.

Any card made the last 5 years will display all resolutions, the time of being limited in resolution due to not enough memory is long gone.

The only thing that might be a problem is the driver not supporting the resolution but I think it will be fine.

Maybe someone with a widescreen monitor and a nVidia card can confirm this?

hmmmm, I can't answer that as I don't use Linux or have a WS monitor.

But I do know that the nVidia driver support is much better than ATI's drivers.

There will be some Linux guru out there who has hacked it and made it work assuming it doesn't work out of the box which it probably will given the age of that card.
