Quick question about advertising

Hi, i'm currently building a website for my dads business(plastering). Anyway i just thought of putting some ad's on there to generate some revenue(will be a small amount i know). Is this generally a good or bad idea?

Is google adsense good to use for this kind of thing? Or are their other good adversiting schemes/sources.

I wouldn't recommend that at all - putting adverts for other people's businesses on your own business site gives a bad message. It would also dilute the impact of the page layout.

I wasn't thinking of competitors really. Any kind of adverstising apart from direct competitors.
