Quick question about attaching Batons to walls..

Hi all.

What's the general rule of thumb when attaching Batons to walls in terms of screw length?

I always used screw length twice the width of the baton but now I'm being told 2.5x.

I'm putting up some 25mm baton at the weekend and now unsure what size screw to go with brown plugs

What're the batons for? That probably helps dictate it, but if it were me i'd probably use 60mm screws.

Not really any weight loading then, in which case i'd probably use either 50mm or 60mm screws.

I usually go with the thickness of the item being fixed (a baton in your case) plus at least the full length of the plug, to get the best out of it.

I've moved away from regular red and brown wall plugs though and have been using lots of Fischer Universal UX plugs. A bit more pricey but boy do they grip well in just about anything.
