Hi,

I'm in the middle of installing a set of components in the 306 - got it all apart/together fine, Im just wondering something:

When setting up the crossovers, I've got a choice of settings for the tweeters:

(-db) 0, 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15.

Has anyone got a rough idea of what I should be selecting? I listen to a whole range of music, so I don't want it to be limited to one type.

Thanks :)

It entirely depends on how they sound once installed! I have mine set to highest attenuation and also the treble turned down low on the HU, but if my tweeters were in a less than optimal position then they would need turning up again.

Install the speakers and crossovers, leave them accessible and go for a drive. Listen to a variety of music and decide if it sounds too bright or not, if so turn them down a bit :)

Edit: 'Turning them down' involves selecting a higher attenuation on the crossover by the way ;) Ie selecting a lower dB reading :)

Well its shown in negative values, so going from -6 to -3, would that be turning them up or down?

The higher the negative value, the more you turn them down :)

Edit - woops made a typo there! The LOWER the value the more the volume decreases :)

Just keep the doorcard off and stick them to the door skin with double sided tape until you have got it set up ok :)
