Quick question about default format and sample rate in sound properties.

hi folks.

Windows 7

Under the advanced tab of speaker properties the default format is set by default to 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).

Should I up this to 24 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality) if my sound card supports it or are there reasons to leave this option alone?

I've always wondered about this so look forward to your answers.

go for it, if the card can handle it, doubt you would notice much difference tbh though

you'll be hard pressed to notice any difference to be honest. 24/96 is a happy medium though

I got popping on my laptop when I pushed it too far. 16-bit 48000hz was fine however any higher and it was carp. wouldn't hurt to try it though I reckon
