Hi guys...

I have a graph on excel... i have temperature on the x axis... but when i draw the graph it automatically plots the temperature to 0... but i dont want that... i want the temperature to start at where the first value is... at the moment it has a large blank area at the start of the graph...

any idea how to make the scale start not as 0?

Don't think you can (not an excel expert) but if you had it like that the Y Axis would not go through the origin and this isn't convention.

Actually, re-reading it, I'm a moron.

Follow the above, and there is an option to change the scale type. Choose text rather than range (I think, not got Excel installed on this PC) and that should solve it.

Talking about excel, does anyone else find 2010 to be the worse ever designed ui in the history of software?

Actually, no. Once you get used to it, it's far easier and more productive than 2003 et al.

of course, the learning curve is somewhat steep, but the trick is to forget the way excel forced you to work before, and start thinking logically, and then the ribbon makes far more sense.

It takes a bit of getting used to with the ribbons if you're not used to it and it's a bit slower when looking for unfamiliar options than I used to find the ordinary pull down menus in previous versions. However I find that simply adding the buttons I need to the quick access toolbar gets round that soon enough.

You should be able to get downloadable options to set it back to an older style with pull down menus though, I looked into it for Office 2007 and presume that the same must be available for 2010.
