quick question about food

tonight I was going to cook a chilli, I cooked the mince meat and was about to add the rest of the ingredients to make the sauce, but I had to stop the cooking and dash out.

my question is....

Do I have to wast the meat or is it still usable??

bare in mind I know its a stupid question and I think I know the answer...
 
cook it til its cooked.

How long was the gap? I mean if its a cople of hours then i don't see why it would go bad if you wack it in the fridge.
 
As long as you cooked it through properly it will be fine for tonight.

Worst case I am wrong and you die but at least you can't complain to me about it.
 
If the mince is cooked there is no problem. You could leave it in the fridge for a couple of days then put the chilli in if you wanted, it's cooked meat, which usually lasts longer than fresh meat.

(If it's par cooked then it's a different story, maybe only a few hours max).
