Can i just take out my dual core cpu (e6600) and pop in my q6600?

wondering if i will need to uninstall the e6600 device drivers, before i replace it with the quad

Only thing I recommend is reseting the BIOS, I did when I updated my CPU from the
E6600 to the Q6600.

When windows loaded it found new hardware then asked for a restart.
After the restart check task manager and I had 4 cores showing.
