quick question about mixing RAM

cobbling together some old parts for a half decent pc for my dad.

Got a 939x2 and a 7600 working in a dfi mobo.

Ram however is a bit of a mess due to having a fair bit of old stuff but non matching.

Pc is mainly used for word/web browsing/music and maybe some video.

Is it ok to mix Pc ratings?

Some is pc3200 some is pc2700 and some of the stuff just has the size writen on it.

also a mix of 512/256/and 1gb.

Is it ok to mix them or is it worth buying some matching stuff?

Should be ok but you wont get dual channel and ram will run at speed of slowest stick.

Voltages wont be a prob unless some of it is high performance stuff that needs a bit more...but then it would be running at pc2700 speed so wouldnt need the extra voltage.
