quick question about mobile cpus

its prolly been asked before but can you use a laptop cpu in a normal computer? I just saved an amd 64 3400 mobile from a laptop carcass and wondering about spending a little more money to build a puter from it.
 
Yes you can, lots of boards support them. May have to modify the retention mechanism a little depending on sink used as those were IHS less iirc.
 
Yes, I ditched my AMD XP3200 Barton on last rig for a Mobile 2600 1.45v, I ran it with 500mhzFSB(ddr) and upto 2.8Gig @ 1.87v volts.

They normally run with less volts but can handle more volts and OC far better and mulit is unlocked for AMD's Powernow (mines was rated for 2.0v max and 100C)
