Quick question about mounting a CPU WC block?

Does the CPU have to have its IHS removed to fit a Storm G4 Waterblock? Or can you just mount it with the IHS on, as I have never removed one of these and knowing my luck will completely bodge it. Can i just yank off the xp 120 i have and put the CPU block on?

why would you need to remove the IHS, not exactly a good waterblock design if you had to :confused:

Its designed to work with Athlon 64's as they are designed to work....with an ihs

Yeah just someone said in another thread that the alphacool nexxos block works well with ihs less cpu's and that got me thinking. But new to all this so thought I would check thanks.

i dont get removing the IHS its pretty pointless you only gain like 3 degress and it is a pain mounting a block on the chip as there is less to contact with and cracking the chip is so easy. i have removed one before and i wont doit again because i gained nothing from it except the occasional scary moment!
