Hi People,
I have a quick question about my hard drive upgrade.
I have ran out of space on my current two ide drives.
I do store lots of media on my computer... ie i have about 50gb of music, and about 200Gb of Movies, which i keep on the hard drive.
What i want to do is buy 3 new hard drives, SATA 2.
2 x 250GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 SATA II 300 7200rpm 16MB cache Hard Disk Drive oem (HAR250WESSA7216)
1 x 500GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 SATA II 300 7200rpm 16MB cache Hard Disk Drive (HAR500WESSA72163)
I want to setupt the 2 x 250gb ones in the Raid configuration whereby it uses both drives as oe to become faster, and then from that i want just Windows and Drivers Installed... ie Windows, All Computer Drivers
From the 500gb, i want all my applications installed..... ie office, autoroute, games etc.
And then i want to keep my large files, such as my music and video on the IDE drives.
I am hping that this will kepp windows running fast and also becuase there wont be that much on the 2 x 250gb hard drives then i will be able to virus scan and chkdsk and defrag much quicker and more conviniently.
But is this the best way to do it??
Or would i be best just buying one expensive hard rive to replace the 2 x 250's.
