Hi guys this is just a very quick question from someone who has little experiance in this area...
I currently have a geforce GTX 660 hooked up to two monitors. Monitor one is connected to it via DVI and runs 1920x1080 at 120hz, monitor two is connected via dvi and is running 1920x1080 at 60hz.
I am looking at outputting to a large tv nearby at full HD. My thoughts were, the spare connector on the gfc card is hdmi and the tv is hdmi, so if I connect the cable perminantly can I have my screen 2 mirrored perminantly so connector 3 (the tv) always shows whats on screen 2? Is mirroring possible for something like that? Would it cause a loss of performance or is it fine because theres no new rendering involved?

Cheers for your help! I am going to plug all this in when I get back from work tonight but like to know what to expect first!

I can't answer your question exactly but what will you be using the TV for? The reason I ask, is that if your answer is going to be "Films/TV" you may be better off getting a Chromecast.

Currently we have the sky box thingamy, but I am hoping to play HD content on the tv stored on the pc. Also I have a blu ray drive on the pc but no external player.
As far as I've seen doesn't chromecast only allow content displayable on a browser to be sent from a mobile device to the tv?
Hmmm investigation shows it can do several filetypes bar MKV, which is the main used one. MKV does video but no sound.

In regards to mirroring, it may slow you down slightly because unlike you said in your previous post your GPU will render a different image for the TV even tho both will be displaying the same thing, however i do not think that if your watching films on it you will notice any slow down really (dependant if your system is from the 90's or not)

Ok I've hooked it up and my second screen is mirrored nicely. ofc now I dont have any sound. tried my sound out no worries and tried the sound port on the tv but to no avail! I am officially befuddled.
