Hi

I just picked up an old shuttle pc for use in a media centre - my x2 4200 cant cope with 1080p HEVC encoded files. My E8400 smokes them but the case is massive, so am hoping the below will be ok.

Shuttle SD32V10
- Intel Core2 6400 2.13Gh

BUT I am just wondering if this will rig will take my E8400 chip?

I have googled but cant actually find the compatibility charts.

they are the same socket however AFAIK.

cheers :)

Not neccessarily. It depends on what the chipset is. Some manufacturers released a beta bios for 45nm cpu support from the 965p chipset onwards but not all manufacturers did. If the chipset is older than 965p then it's unlikely to work.
