Quick question about target SNR

My girlfriend managed to half smash a filter today while I was at work and bizarrely I think it was making my connection constantly resync, I run torrentflux on a server at home and check it in work where I had very intermittent access.

I got home, replaced the filter and my connection is about half speed as usual and the router only wants to connect at some stupid high SNR ~14db. I thought it was always 6db? Will this ever go back? I'll be bloody annoyed if it doesn't!

If you attenuation is the same after a little while your sync will go back up and your SNR therefor down. Its only happened as the exhchange thought you line couldnt handle a higher speed due to the loosing sync (due to the filter cockup)
