hi

installed this last night and got rid of the unity bar and have now got my system setup with all the programs i need

pretty impressed with the font rendering now

infact i think this looks superb compared to windows

now i would like to install ubuntu onto my other laptop and transfer all these settings and programs i have installed

so fresh install and then is there an easy way to tansfer everything over or do i have to set it all up again ?

power management in 14.04 seems a hell of a lot better now as well , on windows 7 my hp2530p fan would go quite loud and the machine would run quite hot , but on here its very good

All settings are kept in your dotfiles and dotfolders in your /home/username folder. But you'll still have to add all the repos and install everything from those to get your new setup looking like the one you've just made anyway (themes, icon sets, fonts, applications, libraries and what-have-you).

i would just install ubuntu on your other PC. You knowe you have a clean PC. The problem I find with Ubuntu is that when it goes wrong (which is not often) it can be a difficult to fix. Installing software is very easier as is backing up emails etc

I just built a new PC and used cloned HD1 with my ubuntu OS to another HD2 and placed that HD in my new PC. However afterwards I decided to just do a fresh install to remove all the crumbs left over after years of using the Ubuntu OS.
