Hi what would happen if a wc pump suddenly failed that was cooling the cpu would it damage the cpu or would it shut down the computer safely on its own to prevent series damage to the cpu ?

Also if the fan stopped on the graphics card would it shutdown on its own and if yes how ?

thanks

Pretty sure every cpu / mobo for a while now has got protection built in to first beep on overheating then shutdown before any damage can take place.

Not sure about gpu's but i think they are the same.

Your PC will shutdown when it reaches the shutdown threshold that is set by the BIOS or a third party program. It will sound an alarm when it reaches a certain temperature if this is set/supported by BIOS or said third party program. GPU will most likely throttle down if its a new one but I am not 100% sure if damage will occur before it does.

If no one was around to be alerted by the beeps would it still shutdown on its own ?
