okay i seen loadsa socket am2 stuff around, i know its the new socket from amd but the processors are pretty much same price as 939. whats the difference? and should i get an am2 instead of 939? if i do are the normal components in a 939 system compatible, for example, ddr memory, or do i have to buy new memory? also as its newer, whats the advantages of this socket? is it good for the future?

If your buying new get socket AM2, if you cant afford new memory or are still using an agp card buy a s939 asrock dual sata 2 board this allows you to upgrade to AM2 cheaply in the future.

If you are buying new, think about Conroe as mentioned - everyone seems to be going there over AMDs offerings.

I hate to admit it but Intel deffo have the better product atm. And I don't subscribe to the niave opinion that AMD have something amazing stashed up their sleeves either.

I'm a typical Brit. Come on underdog!!!
