Got mine the other day and ofc it works wonders. All games run smooth as silk yada yada etc.
Just to keep an eye on usagage I've kept the cpu usage task manager window open on secoind screen lately when playing games and noticed something odd. It seams a lot of the games I play favour the 4th core and leave the 3rd a lot. If I'm playing intensively in a game my core usage will be 40%, 40%, 10%, 65%.
I've got no experiance with quads so I'm not sure if this is right or if it shows a coming problem, but everything works wonderfully atm. Anyone else experienced this?

Yeah, sounds like it might be a game-specific issue, I don't think they do that normally, certainly haven't noticed it with mine.

Ive always found it depends on the game and windows itself.

Makes no difference as to what cpu, be it, Intel or AMD.

Unless the game is able to spread itself across all the cores such that it is controlling the threading, windows will control it. I.e if a game is only single threaded windows will give it the quietest cpu afaik.

E.g. In a single threaded game on a quad you might find Core 0 is used for windows, core 1 for audio, core 2 for the game, core 3 for anything else.

I know splinter cell conviction was nice and even. this behaviour I saw on warcaft. Thats an insane engine anyhow, lots of features olted on here and there lol
