Looking to get some new ram, but quick question.

I can see I can get some slower MHz ram with more gigs, eg for around £150 I can get:

- 8gb super high MHz
- 16gb high MHz
-32gb low MHz

Question is how much difference does the MHz make to performance? Should I go for gigs or MHz?

capacity = gigs

speed = MHz

it depends what you are doing. having more capacity than you need does nothing for you, so higher speed wins

Having less capacity than you need will hurt you, so capacity wins.

are we talking gaming? If so, I would personally recommend 16Gb of "medium" speed ram. 8GB is still enough for now, but 16gb means you will still have enough in 4 years.

Though it depends on budget, if splashing out on 16gb of ram means getting a worse GPU, then just get 8GB ram and the better GPU for now.

to answer that directly, maybe 2% best case (fps in games) probably closer to 0% most of the time.
