Quick Question on MSI Zilent P45

Hey guys,

My friend has just given me this board as he has upgraded so I can run raid as previously i only had a p31 board.

However my OCZ 500w psu only has a 4 pin 12v connector for the cpu. This motherboard has an 8 pin connection. Anyone know if i need an adapter or can i just use the 4 pin?

Got an E6800 if thats any use,

You can just use the 4 pin and it will be fine.

My old rig was a msi p35 mobo with an 8 pin socket, but my psu at the time only had a 4 pin, its totally fine to use, so don't worry at all.

That rig is now still in use by my sister, so been going strong for 3+ years with the same mobo and psu.

The motherboard also has a molex conection by the PCI-E, but thats only for crossfire setups right?

Yeh that molex connection is generally for when you are using top top end multi gpu set ups, probably best to read the manual just to be sure though, but i know on high end mobo's they generally add a molex there for that.
