Quick question on Predator 240 QDC colling CPU + GPU

Hi all,

I am planning a build with an i7 4770K at 4.2GHz with an R9 Nano at 1050 core and would prefer to use an AIO than get a full water cooling loop. So my question is will an EK Predator 240 QDC be enough to cool the CPU and GPU combo mentioned?

My case will not fit a Predator 360 hence the need for the smaller 240. My main aim is the quieter the better but I suspect this will not be any quieter than on air given the smaller radiator size for a CPU+GPU.

4770K @4.2G does not seem to be high so I would say if you are happy with mid-high temp (e.g. around 65-70C) then 240 is doable for your setup.

But of coz, it'll be a lot better if you could throw in a 120/140 rad, probably at the rear of the case that'll help bring down the temp.
 
Thank you for the reply. I would be happy with those temperatures as my main aim is a quieter PC rather than cooler. Of course I would rather have both so if it is possible to expand the EK Predator with extra rads then I will look into it.

It is possible to expand the loop further. Thing to remember is the more it expands the less effective the pump will get.

All the bits on the pred are standard EK components so any of it can be used for any type of water loop customer or QDC through the supplied components.
