Hopefully a quick question - do I need to use silicone sealant on the new gasket when I am replacing the generator cover? I know I need to use it on the gromit the wires run through, but there seems to be conflicting information on sealing the gasket itself.
Is this a bike specific thing? If so, does anyone know if a ZX6R F3 97 needs sealant? Is it likely to be a problem if I use it and its not called for?
