Quick question on retail licence.

Hopefully a troll.

People won't buy electronics from a sandwich shop.
People won't buy sandwiches from a shop with electronics in the windows.

1/10 would not visit.

meh, was just an idea :(

as for everything posted above about ideas for the sandwich shop, we have allready got all that in place. i.e delivery's, pasty's buns, cakes etc etc. the only thing we dont do is ice cream and slush puppy's as the machines cost a fortune.

decided last night that not going todo the second hand goods in the window, as some of you pointed out its not hygienic.

i know a place where i used to buy pallets of catalog returns of computers, tv's and audio.

going todo that for a bit from home selling on the bay.

thanks for the comments, and suggestions.

A lot of people scoffing in this thread, but I know of a café that's bundled in with a game/console swapshop type venue, and it always seems to be quite busy.

And how are you going to to that and run a sandwich shop?

To be honest, I'd buy second hand electronics from a sandwich shop if the price was right.

I buy my clothes from a car parts place sometimes, if the gear is good and it's priced right, it'll sell.
Have you considered offering outside catering or starting a "hangover sandwich service" or something?

Seems im not the only one with the idea.
we do a hangover service lol. we do a pre-order your breakfast for delivery.
so basicly, you order what you want for saturday/sunday morning (or any other day) and we will delivery it on the time/date that you want it. (2 mile radius only though).

we h ave thought about out side catering, but with that many people doing it, and not having a lot of room in our kitchen and time todo it. it wasnt worth it for us. there is very little profit in it. but its still on the back burner as an future prospect.

I dont think its a bad idea.

There was a time many years ago when people thought it was ludicrous to sell electricals in Supermarkets.

If you can implement the change at minimal cost, a little diversification wouldnt hurt at all. I'd be interested to see if it works :)

Where does the issue lie with your core business? Is the shop in a poor location resulting in poor passing trade? Or are you overpriced, or poor quality?

Sounds like a terrible idea and should look at your sandwiches.
Usually only two reasons they fail, location or sandwiches are crap.

Good sandwich shops have cues around the corner.

Second hand electronics will just look chavy and lower your reputation even further, i would look at such a sandwich shop and walk past going wtf, it would put me off.
If you want to do it, keep it separate, use amazon/ebay.

Sounds like you need to start making better sandwiches.

Honestly, go American deli style. Full Reubens, sandwiches whacked full of meat etc. Make them an experience themselves before you focus on anything else.
