Quick question on Win 7 and RC expiry

Firstly, how does the XP mode work in the RC? Is it literally a VM of XP Professional? Do you know which version of IE is bundled with it?

I understand that from March 2010 machines running the RC start to shut down every 2 hrs or so. Will there come a point when the OS won't even allow you to use the machine ie it won't even boot?

To the first yes, it's just VirtualPC with a licensed XP Pro VM integrated a little into the UI. Install applications on the VM, they then appear in the start menu on the host OS and launch in normal windows, that's as far as the integration goes. Not sure on the version of IE, it's XP SP3 and I'd imagine it's had critical updates applied, including IE8.
