Finally got the computer connected and trying to POST.... but when it's turned on, I get continuous short beeps; BEEP ... BEEP ... BEEP ... BEEP ... Also, it looks like a corrupted display. Gotta be something to do with the GFX card.

It's a GA-965P-DS4 motherboard - I've looked up the beeps and it means there's a power problem.

Note: Graphics card is Sapphire X1950 XT 256mb

I've made sure all the power connectors are in properly, however...

On the graphics card, there is a 6-pin female socket which isn't plugged in to anything. Could this be causing the problem? But the molex on the mobo is the PCI-E boost isn't it..? Do I need the graphics card plugged in as well as the molex on the mobo? Also, I didn't get a bloomin molex to 6-pin adapter!

Also, the molex on the mobo is REALLY stiff to push in. It's maybe 1mm or 2mm sticking out - it's not totally flush with the socket, but won't go in any further without using unreasonable force (the mobo is bending already when I push it, I don't wanna crack it!). So that should be okay, right? As long as it's making contact..? I'm considering filing the molex down a bit so it gets in there properly.

Please give me your opinions! I would love to get this computer up and running tonight!

Thanks

S'alrite - managed to vandalise my brothers PC and borrow his adapter (2 Molex to 1 6-pin PCI-E). Works fine now :D Let the computering commence!
