Quick Question re. Direct 2 Drive

As per title. Has anyone used Direct 2 Drive at all or is it a US based system. I wanted to give Mass Effect a dabble but given it's

A) Leathering it down
B) I really can't be bothered going to the shop
C) It's about £22.00 on D2D

I'm thinking it could be a good purchase.
 
Some game are licenced to US only, but apart form that have not had a problem getting games from there - 3 in total now.

You get 5 activations (from re-installing say) and after that you need to contact them to get more activations enabled. Not really a problem, and they have given me no hassles when I have done this.

If the price is right, go for it. Just write your files to a dvd so you don't need to re-doanload :)

What were the download speeds like for installing a game ? I take it the servers were US Based ?
