Quick question re E36 Auto box.

Box is A4S 310/270R on an E36 318 (1.9 engine)

At what speed should the TCC lock-up engage?

It should lock-up in both third and 4th gear so I would have expected a lock-up at reasonably low speeds, However I only seem to get a lock-up at speeds in excess of 50MPH which seems a bit high.

No fault lights or fault codes stored.

Any ideas?

50 MPH doesn't sound a particular high lock-up speed for an old gearbox.

50mph sounds about right as PMKeats says. I remember my old Senator would lock up at 55mph.

It is just that I am used to the Landcruiser (Similar age) cutting in at around 40.
