quick Question regarding dual monitors please?

hi,

just curious if i have 2 lcd monitors connected to my graphics card, is it possible to play a game on 1 while i have a movie playing or media player on the other at the same time?

Off the top of my head I would say yes, but with limitations.

Depending on what res the game im running on my main monitor, the second monitors res will be altered as well, but that may be because of how I've got my monitors set up. So if I had a browser or whatever maximised on the second monitor, it would get pushed off to one side when the game loaded.

Of course if you can run the game in your monitors native res this isnt an issue.

Sure you can! Drag the movie or whatever onto your secondary panel and run the game. In some cases you may have to run the game in windowed mode but it will work fine. You can Alt+Tab between the two in case you need to rewind

as stated above you can. but if our monitors run at say 1900x1080 and you play a game that runs in different size, both monitors change to that of the main.

also if u have itunes running on one screen u can use an iPhone/ipod touch to control it without alt tabbing.

For some reason when I do this and go to the second screen and click it, it minimises my game

yea sometimes they do that. esp when u alt-tab. if theres an option to run the game in windowed mode, that should prevent it from alt tabbing

me and my wife at one big desk with, if goes well i will setup another monitor to my comp so i can play wow etc and we can watch movie with a monitor in the middle of ours, but never done it before so my pc can handle it

are there any appz i need to make this smoother or give extra settings
