My car came with W rated (168mph) CS3s, however it is a Clio 197 with a top speed of 134 (not that I plan to go that fast)...

Question is will buying V rated (149mph) CS3s lead to baby death? Common sense says no but I wonder if the speed rating affects anything else? Reason I ask is they've got 215/45/R17/87V on Camskill for £93 a corner and I can't find anything else online to touch it price wise.

Ta for help.

Your insurance company could give you hassle for having tyres that differ from manufacturers specified tyres.
You'll need to ring them and declare it as a modification.

Check in the handbook what speed rating tyres the manufacturer states as the CS3s might have been over rated from the factory. Clios may have come with various different OEM tyres. I wouldn't fit anything lower than the minimum the manufacturer recomends though.
