quick question: Which Cpu???

ok so im rebuilding a cheap rig for a friend, his system is around 4 years old and is only used to play WOW he doesnt really have a budget at all, just bits of cash scraped together.

i have an am3 board he can have so i have to choose between these 2 cpu's

sempron 140, single core but i could unlock it and overclock it for him

or the athlon 64 x2 5200+

thats the budget, up to £30 for a cpu

Hi there,

with that budget and usage I would buy something for your mate off the MM and get him to give you the money for it.

At the moment there is an Athlon II X2 250 up for £35 delivered (this will be a good deal faster than a sempron or Athlon 1).
