quick question, X99 to X299, operating system re-install?

I have updated my Asus Strix X99 motherboard to a X299 Asus Strix motherboard

Also CPU updated to a i9

Everything else the same, same operating system install, upon starting the PC the COMPUTER states new CPU detected

Did a update or some sort of repair, anyway the old Windows 10 from the X99 build booted up perfectly

Now am I to do a new windows install?

Will I face issues if I keep this old but convenient operating system on my new PC?

played 1 game, gsync dont work, played Sekerio die twice and i get 5fps also sound card not detected, i m gonna have to re-install
