A friend of mine has an onboard graphic card and wants an old card of mine (a geforce4 mx440) so that he is at least able to run cod2. Anyways I was just wondering whether the mx440 would be compatible with his onboard card, without having to take out his motherboard or w/e. I have no idea about onboard cards (and very little about normal cards :P) , do onboard cards sit in a PCI/AGP slot or are they incorparated into the mobo or what?

thanks in advance

Onboard is as it says "on the board", you cant change them. That doesnt stop you from putting another card into a PCI/AGP slot though.

And by the way, i dont think an mx440 is gonna run COD2 very well, if at all.

Onboard graphics are integrated into the motherboard hence they are "on board" eg on the mother board.

To disable it you just have to find the option in the bios somewhere. Out of interest, is your card agp, and does your friend know if he has an agp slot.

Edit: to the above poster it would probably run it just not very well. Could probably manage 800 x 600

Is that a typo, as you've added a couple of noughts after the 8 and the 6. :p

Probably need to be run in Dx7 to. :)
