Quick Question

most DIY stores sell it for about a pound maybe less. just ask for PTFE tape and they will know what it is, you wrap it around the thread on barbs before you screw them in this gives a perfect seal preventing any leaks from high pressure at barb points. its like very thin floppy selotape, i use about 3 wraps on a barb thread to get a good seal

you ptfe screwing threads, dont ptfe where your going to put tubing over as this can reduce the friction between the tubing and the metal barb. its a thread sealant not a water silicon sealant

Compression fittings dont really take advantage of PTFE tape on the tubing end, although its useful where the fitting fits into the acctual RAD, or block, then again thermal take stuff is well well fitted into the components so PTFE is rarly needed. they only tend to leak at the tubes dues to user errors, not fitting the tubing correctly

on a side note, its best to cut about 10 CM of PTFE tape and wrap it in the direction iof the thread ( clockwise looking at the treaded end) length depends on the size of the barb etc etc, but 1 -3 layers is enough.
thats only for future reference

its about 60pence a spool i think

I know that this is a little off topic but when I come on the forums and see that R B Customs has posted I get a little excited that you might of posted some more piccies of his custom rig :)

@RB - Not got the kit yet, just remember reading some had this kit on the forums and recommended PTFE'ing the connections.

PS - Where's the thread - love to see the setup RB :)

if you have the choice, and the budget, id go for a custom WC kit, as in building your own kit ( easier than it sounds) OR go for the Swiftech Apex Ultra kit - best out the box kit you can get.

theres not much to PTFE on thermaltake kits though :| ( ive had one once upon a time )
