Quick Question

What happens if you're power supply cant provide enough power, will it just shut down or will it blow up and damage components?

The reason I ask is because I am using a temporary 350W jeantech PSU as my Hiper 580W broke an i really want to play oblivion but I am scared what might happen. It runs fine in windows and I played madden nfl 07 for an hour the other day with no probs but oblivion is just a teeny weeny bit more demanding! (Powering the rig in sig). Cheers.

when i had a rubbish PSU my PC would just reset

Could anyone else confirm it would just reset and not damage any components?

it should only cause damage if it outputs unregulated voltages etc

Yeah it will just restart the computer if it cannot handle the load.

I used to game on a generic 350W that came with a £20 case and it just shut down at most. It was an OC P4 3.8Ghz + 1600pro as well.
