and i've got an IDE HDD in my old system full of music i want to use on it

now am i right in thinking this mobo dnt support IDE in which case i'll have to buy a SATA HDD and transfer it over ?

Thanks

As above, it does indeed have an IDE port :)

In the description: Storage: 1x UltraDMA.

Is this going to be a new install as well? As I presume you have brought a new hard drive for that? :)

Ahh i see.

Well that has 2 CD-Drives plugged into it.

Could i just unplugg on CD drive and have a HDD Aswell ?

gonna get a 500GB sata soon but for now the IDE is full of my music that i want lol

It should be OK having a HDD and ODD connected to the same IDE channel, just be sure that the HDD is set to master and ODD to slave...

Or at least this is how I used to do it... I personally hate IDE devices, it is those big ugly ribbon cables that annoy me...

SATA cables are so much tidier IMO... I agree that it wont be to long before IDE dissapears... the sooner the better!!!
