I need to get a molex to 6pin PCI-E power converter but I have noticed that there are two types!!

One uses a single molex connector and the other a pair - what is the best one to choose??

The graphics card I am using is an HD3870 512MB GDDR4.

Do you mean a Y-spliter? one molex to two pci-e 6 pins - Shouldn't make any difference.

The converters I have seen are either a single molex to one PCI-E power connector or a pair of molex cables to a pair of PCI-E power connectors.

I know the two molex version will give you more power but TBH it means one less molex available.

Thanks everyone for the replies!! :)

I am doing a mini ITX conversion of a Shuttle G2 box and the 1U PSU I am using only has three molex connectors. If I can get away with using a single molex connector each for the SATA hard disk and the graphics card it would leave one free for the IDE optical drive I hope to re-use.
