I have a 5770, its ~ 63 under load, ~36 idle but the fan won't drop below 40% (although it rises to 41% in crysis :p). Should the fan no be slowing down when the cards idle? The whirring, although quiet, is a little annoying.
 
Probably, but it slowed down when idle when i first got it, hence my wondering if there was some change or setting I may have overlooked. Think I'll have a run of driver swweper tomorrow.
