Is 1.296 good core voltage for an i7 950 @ 4 Ghz? I just bought a 950 last week because of the price drop and I am pretty underwhelmed at the voltages I have to put up with when I look at a threads like this, they all have at least 4 ghz and hardly any are 1.3v~

I thought they might have low vcores just for the screenshots, and that their voltages might not be all that stable.

How good is my chip in your guys' opinion?

FYI, to cool my chip I'm using a Noctua DH-14 and Silverstone FT02 (open).

The DH-14 is using 3 Noctua fans at 800 RPM, the exhaust fan is also a Noctua fan (P12) at 800 RPM. The front fan is a Silverstone 18cm Air Penetrator at 800 RPM.

My temps are peaking at 69 67 67 66 when the case is standing and 67 65 65 63 when it's laying down, I'm pretty sure this is happening because the D14 is not bolted down tight enough and looses pressure against the CPU when it's not 'standing' on it?

I want the best temperatures I can with near-silent operation, but I'm afraid if I try to reseat the cooler on the CPU, I might mess up somehow on removing and reapplying AS5. How likely is this?

You have to remember not all cpu's are the same, and mobo's vary also. Your vcore is'nt the worst iv seen but also its not best aswell. Its about average to be honest.

Also most of those posted in that link, are just cpu-z screen shots, there is nothing to say those overclocks are 100% stable at all. Some may be, some may not be.

Your temps are good, no need to worry about that, about the taking out and reseating, aslong as you are careful there should'nt be any problems, also bare in mind AS5 needs 200 hours of curing time, until you get its best performance.
