Just the front of the car, the front tyres JUST over the white line.

I got pulled for this last night, and there going going on and on and on about they COULD give me a £60 fine and 3 points for this, but ended up sending me on my way :o

Seems harsh.

People do this all the time. Especially if the lights turn at the "****, make a decision" point.

Exactly my situation.
I got the fright of my life...was on my way to work at the time, town center was quite quiet, and the passenger in the police car got out, ran upto my window, knocked it :eek: and told me to pull over.....before going on his rant. :p
 
It does seem harsh, I see some who completely ignore and instead go past the white line and/or crossing and sit in the middle of the junction. :confused: :o
 
Now that you've had this fright, courtesy of the plod, are you more likely to pay enough attention when coming up to traffic lights and actually manage to stop before crossing the line?

If so, then he's accomplished his mission. Without fining you or giving you points. I'd call that a win, personally.
