How badly would a 2.9ghz dual core Athlon bottleneck a Radeon 6950?

Wouldn't bother with what? It's only going to be temporary, will be picking up a Bulldozer when it eventually gets here. Just wondering whether it's worth picking up a 6950 to give the BF3 beta whirl and play RAGE next week. Obviously won't be worth doing though if it's not going to give me much of an upgrade over my 4850 due to the CPU.
