Quick question

Hi guys, my dad was recently given an iPad by a work colleague. My understanding is that the company bought a load for a conference they were holding and have not used them since. The chap who gave my dad the iPad is his old boss who no longer works for the firm.

The problem is, the iPad is setup in the account name of this chap and therefore we can't download updates etc as we need to type in his password etc for all installations which we don't know!

So, can anyone explain or link me to an explanation of how to set up the iPad so that my dad can use it in his name thus allowing him to use his own username and password of choice to install updates and new software?

Restore it in iTunes which will wipe it, install the latest software on there and load it like its just came out of the box new. Then create a new Apple ID unless your Dad already has one? If he has one put that in and away you go.

This will lose any of the existing apps etc on there though so your Dad would need to repurchase any he likes already on his account to use/play etc as they go by the Apple ID rather than the iPad
