Hi,

My old thread got deleted. So i'll keep this short, and please don't delete this one.

melbourne720 (if you read this), thanks for list of parts for the recommended system that you posted in the old thread. But it is gone now. Can you please post it again? I'm specifically trying to remember which motherboard. thanks

To anyone else that wants to contribute, i'm trying to get a gaming system together for about £600 (no speakers, keyboard/mouse, dvd drives or monitor needed)

Thanks in advance

Thanks, just a read a quick review on that gfx card and it was said to have a noisy fan.

Are there any silent PCI-E cards that you could recommend within my budget?

Cheers

Is this one any good?

Cool! Thanks!

I might want to use crossfire in the future. It says the motherboard supports SLi, but there is no mention of crossfire. Can it do both, or do i need a different motherboard?

Thanks for the quick replies.

Thanks for that list. I forgot to mention that I already have a case and PSU so that puts it to £500 which is great! :)

Quick question regarding the scythe CPU cooler. I'm buying the CPU retail so I assume it comes with a cooler. What advantages does the scythe cooler have? Bear in mind that I dont overclock anything. Will it reduce noise significantly? Is it easy to install?

Cheers

System is up and running :) That cooler you recommended is massive. I'm a bit worried if it's working because the fan is mounted on the side and i'm not sure if the air is getting to the CPU.

is an idle CPU temperature of 40 degrees C ok?

Also, i'm not sure if I have the memory in dual channel mode. In the manual it says:

"For dual-channel configuration, the total size of memory module(s) installed per channel must be the same (DIMM_A1 + DIMM_A2 = DIMM_b1 + DIMM_B2)"

At the moment i have them both in DIMM_A1 and DIMM_A2, which are right next to each other. is this right?

Cheers
