Hi from Greece.
I have a Gigabyte MA770-UD3motherboard, a Geforce 275GTX and i am upgrading the CPU to a Phenom X4 965 (from 6000+). I now have 3 sticks of 1Gb DDR2 800 Ram (single channel- not even identical). My OS is Windows XP 32Bit.

Do you think i will benefit from buying new Ram?
If yes, 2*2Gb DDR2 800Hz sticks? Faster Ram?
Is DDR3 an option with my rig?Other options to consider?

Many thanks in advance!

Thanks! So i buy 2 new sticks of 2Gb each PC6400 800 HZ, right? With what timings? Any one particular you would prefer?

As Surveyer mentioned you will want to upgrade to a 64 bit operating system (preferably windows 7 64bit) before buying any more RAM.

The 2x2GB RAM will run faster as it will be running in dual channel mode - but because of the memory limits of your 32bit OS (4GB total AFAIK) you would not have much extra system memory available (remember, the graphics card video memory is included in the total addressable memory).

Once you have the OS sorted, this is the RAM I would go for.

Ireally kind of like the huge game compatability of Win XP. If i buy Win XP 64bit can i use more than 4Gb? Can i use DDR3?
Thanks!

I strongly suggest against Win XP 64 bit - the compatibility is frankly awful as it was largely overlooked by the people who make drivers.

Unless you have hardware or software that you know does not work with Windows 7 - then I think you will greatly appreciate the switch. Remember, XP is a 9 year old OS now and support is starting to fall away.

You can use DDR3 with windows XP fine - however your motherboard doesn't support DDR3, so you would need a new motherboard to use DDR3. Anyway, the real-world performance benefit of switching from DDR2 to DDR3 is very small.
