Hi guys

I'm about to do a quick little RAM upgrade wanted to ask which is best.

This is my system:

Win 7.
Motherboard: Asus P5N32-E SLI
Psu: Hiper psu 580w 4m580
Cpu: Q6600 G0 SLACR
Ram: Elixir DDR2 1gb x2
GPU: EVGA 8800GTX 768mb

I'm upgrading the RAM to 4GB. Was advised on here once to go for these bad boys >>

Kingston HyperX Genesis 4G 1066Mhz

the kingstons would be my first choice but they are a tad pricey compared to these:

GEIL 4GB DDR2 1066 CL5.0 D/C BLACK DRAGON

I'm tempted by the GeIL since it has Similar speeds and timings to KINGSTON but almost £20 cheaper.

Is GeIL any good, should i go for them?

Also would i have any problems with the power they need with my current PSU? (i know it's **** & i should prob upgrade it too) i won't be overclocking at the moment.

Thank you

Go for whats cheapest. But id suggest you remove those links posted as theyre classed as competitors. Regarding your psu, it will be fine with the ram upgrade.

I would look into corsair/kingston as they have been established in the memory market and offer a good performance/money ratio! =)

Yeah, that's my first instinct, to go with the established brands that i know are good. Just tempted by low price, i thought they might have a good reputation i don't know about or something.

Both GEIL and kingston are well established brands as well, had some kingston in my previous x58 setup and it ran great.

If it wasn't for corsair bombarding the market I would have stuck with Kingston. They are just lacking in the looks department for my new build which is unfortunate. I always consider Kingston the king of reliability and stability! (Current rig is running HyperX and I have NEVER had any problems in the past using other Kingston brands =)
