Just a nice quick question guys :D

Say Ive got some DDR 3200 XMS sticks and used a stick of generic PC2100 I know the 3200 would slowdown to the 2100 speeds, the question is would there be a noticeable difference?

id think i would notice it but then i clock my ddr 2100 to 3200.

depends what you do with the pc really do you need faster bandwith or more memory to stop as much paging activity?

Basically I’ve just build a cheap but sound download/mess about box and I’ve put Vista on as the main OS, its only got 2X 512Mb DDR 3200 and well Vista is running abit slow, I’ve just found 2 sticks of 512Mb PC2100 ram and was going to boost the ram to 2Gb which hopefully vista will like.

I will just put the ram in any way what’s 100Mhz in ram speed going to do compared to a nice 1Gb increase, like you say I will clock it close as I can get it to 3200 speeds :p
