Quick release steering wheels

Anyone any idea what the fittment is on the bosses for these? i need to fit one to my car, but i cant find any info, the steering column is simple tube with splines up the top.

You need a specific boss for your car, then the quick release is on the boss.

I've got a 'snap off' one on my mk1 escort. Very easy to use, not too sure on the legal side of things though.

Completely legal.

Best visual deterrant for would-be thieves too. Balls to your krooklok; if the car has no wheel, you're not steering it.

Problem is due to the fact its a 1980 triumph spitfire chances of having a boss to fit are very very slim.

There are bosses that can be welded on if you can't find another way

Thinking about it the spitfire steering column is used by kit cars so maybe i will get lucky.

Fit an electric PAS column from a Corsa then.

PAS and you'll get a boss easily

There are two types of quick release, one that bolts between a standard MOMO/OMP/Mountney M boss and the steering wheel, and one which has a small hexagonal boss welded to the top of the steering column. The former type always move the steering wheel forwards, which is not always acceptable.

Beware that cheap quick releases (and even some not so cheap ones) can have an annoying amount of slop in them.
