well i have been lookin at some quick release fittings mainly for draining my pc and was thinkin of gettin ithe 2 male 1 female or 2 female 1 male and the prices are well abit to much!

so got me thinking, they are basicly the same as air compressor fittings with o-rings, so could i not in a way just get some of those and use for draining?

dont think i would put them into the loop its self but get a 3 port block as like a pass though with the connector on it for when i need to drain.

I wouldn't bother to be honest, the best option is to plan your loop and put the res in a place which is easily accessible for draining. Or alternatively put a t line at the bottom of your loop so you can empty from there.

The only advantage of qds is if you are regularly replacing components, e.g. graphics cards. Other than that they can be more hassle than they are worth.

i have just redone my loop due to new case and new res but its a bay res and not very accessable. the way i have it is Res > Pump > Rad1 > CPU > GFX > Rad2 > Res, Rad 2 is the lowest point on case being at the bottom with a big tube so would be a perfect place for a quick release,

T lines i have always been abit weary of and look messy

do you think that air compressor fittings will work or be Very wrong?

This is how I have mine setup:

It's at the lowest point in my loop, and all I have to do to drain is hold the T-line above a bucket/bottle with a funnel, and unscrew the extra port.

Alternatively you can attach an extra bit of tubing to the extra port and just use a stop plug, this'll give you a bit of an time positioning your PC for draining. Only reason I havent got the extra tube is because I'm using Aurora and the pearls will get stuck in the draining tube. I'll be adding the extra tube when I switch to Pastel yellow. \o/

cool thanks, i have just got a Y Fitting and forgot to get a stop plug, now its just where to put it on the loop, low yeah but from the GFX or from the res?
